Water Works is monitored by the experienced team at Lifewater which will ensure that all families and schools understand how to use their new system. They will also check in regularly for maintenance and help them solve any problems they might be experiencing.
Did you know that 2 billion people do not have access to safe drinking water causing the death of 1.8 million children every year or the equivalent of 5000 a day? Water Works is a charity team building event where delegates construct water filtration units for areas of the world experiencing water borne illness from their drinking water. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 ensures sustainable management of water and its availability for all. Your team addresses this goal by participating in Water Works. Not only will you be improving the lives of people living without access to safe drinking water, but your team will also be emotionally engaged and form better connections within the wider team and the company itself. After a brief PowerPoint presentation, your group will be divided into teams of four. Three people will be blindfolded. Meaning one person will be the eyes for the team. They must communicate efficiently with their team increasing collaboration, communication skills and allowing for delegates to empathise with the recipients of the water filtration unit. Your team will have absolute clarity on where each filtration unit will be used. Communication Leadership Teamwork Planning & Strategy Fun Corporate Social Responsibility Lateral Thinking Problem Solving Friendly Competition Time Management Each team of approximately four will have one water filtration unit to construct. Depending on how remote the areas in need of the water filtration units are, it will take roughly three months. This also includes a quality control stop to ensure the recipients get maximum benefit from your efforts. “Fantastic event. Our host was absolutely amazing!” “We had so much fun, the feedback I got from my team was awesome.” Water Works
